What the announced material says

Game Science’s project page and official teaser identify Black Myth: Zhong Kui as a new Black Myth project. The announcement material does not provide a launch date that can be used as a confirmed schedule. [1] [2]

The later gameplay coverage also treats the footage as an early work-in-progress look rather than a launch announcement. That distinction matters: a playable or presentable build can exist while the release schedule remains unannounced. [3]

What remains unknown

No current announcement gives:

  • a release year, month or day;
  • a public pre-order date;
  • a final launch edition or regional schedule; or
  • a final list of launch platforms and system requirements.

Those are separate questions from whether development has started. Not seeing a date yet does not point to a particular future date, and it should not be turned into a prediction.

How to check for a real update

When a date is announced, start with a first-party Game Science or official Black Myth announcement. Reliable reporting can provide context, but a rumor, community post or search snippet is not enough to treat a date as confirmed. We will update this guide when a new official announcement or reliable report provides a specific date.
